R&T Mandan Spray Foam Insulation

About our Mandan insulation contractor company

Wall insulation fills the cavities of exposed wood framing, with foil-wrapped ducts and pipes in an unfinished room.

How a weekend job turned into a business

I started out insulating attics for neighbors on weekends, and when the calls kept coming, I made it a business in 2017. I learned the trade by doing it, mostly in older Mandan houses where nothing is square and something odd is waiting in every attic. Sometimes it's a draft nobody could find. Sometimes it's insulation somebody spread with a rake and a lot of hope.

We're based in Mandan and do a lot of work in Bismarck and plenty of the cities around them. Most calls come from people with a cold room, a hot upstairs or a power bill that climbs every winter, plus some business owners with buildings to insulate. Winters here are long, so an attic done wrong gets noticed fast. What I care about is doing the steps in the right order, so nothing gets buried that should have been fixed first. That's the idea behind all of our insulation work.

How we work on your house

  • I look at every job myself

I come out to see your house and write the estimate, so your number is based on what's actually in your attic and not a guess over the phone. Estimates are free and done on site, and you can set one up at (701) 299-5063 or through our contact page.

  • You hear about problems before we start

If we find something that has to come first, like a roof leak, old wiring or vermiculite, we tell you straight and help you sort it out before any insulation goes in. I'd rather stop and show you than cover it up and hope.

  • You deal with the people doing the work

You talk to us from the first visit to the final look around, not to a call center. Our crew does the job, and I'm up there with them and check it before we leave.

  • Permits and licensing taken care of

When a job needs a permit, we pull it and set up the inspections, and the City of Mandan's inspection list includes attic insulation. North Dakota requires a state contractor license on jobs over $4,000, and we're fully licensed and insured.

What you'll notice on the job

  1. Check first

We look at how many inches are already up there, what shape it's in and where the air gets in before we decide anything.

  2. Seal the gaps

We close the gaps around can lights, pipes and the attic hatch before insulation goes in, because insulation can't do its job in a draft.

  3. Vents stay open

We keep the eave vents clear so your attic can still breathe and moisture doesn't end up in the framing.

  4. Even coverage

We fill the edges as well as the middle, since the thin spots along the eaves are usually where the cold gets in.

  5. Clean up

We clean up after ourselves in the attic, on the stairs and out on the driveway, so your house looks the way we found it.
